History of SAES

SAES International was founded over 35 years ago by the current managing director, Henk Saes. Since then, SAES International has been the manufacturer and supplier of attachments for recycling, demolition, and earthmoving. Our history at a glance…

1982 Production in Eastern Europe

Henk Saes started the production of steel structures, mainly excavator buckets, loading buckets, fork carriers, and extension arms. Distinctive features included innovative, forward-thinking designs and high quality. To keep up with the ever-increasing demand, production was soon transferred to facilities in Eastern Europe—a rare move for a Western European company in the late 1990s. To this day, large-scale, serial productions of these attachments and other structures continue in various Eastern European countries. Additionally, small-scale productions (urgent productions, custom work, revisions, etc.) take place in the company’s workshop in Weert.

1988 Collaboration with Japanese breaker producer

Shortly after its founding, the supply program was expanded to include various hydraulic demolition tools. This was made possible through a collaboration with a Japanese hammer product company that had just established itself in Europe. Henk successfully introduced this then-unknown brand to the market, both domestically and with our southern neighbors.

2015 Exclusive distributorship for Atlas Copco

After over 22 years as the face of FRD in the Netherlands and having sold thousands of demolition hammers, SAES International was offered the exclusive distributorship for market leader Atlas Copco in early 2015. Impressed by the unparalleled quality of the Atlas Copco product range, the new partnership quickly became a reality.

2017 Distributorship for Epiroc

Following a division within Atlas Copco in October 2017, these hydraulic demolition tools are now marketed globally under a new name: Epiroc, while the quality of the attachments remains the same.

2018 and beyond... In addition to the Epiroc distributorship, various other exclusive distributorships have been acquired over the years, including those of Spain’s Xcentric® Ripper, Germany’s Erkat®, the American LaBounty, the Korean STM and Italy’s VTN. The current product range of SAES International can be described as extensive and is characterized by one common denominator: unrivaled quality. Over the years, SAES International has gradually transformed from a traditional supplier to a modern partner. A partner that primarily delivers solutions rather than products. Unburdening the client is the key here. Today’s service range is nearly as extensive as the product range. And the market? It grows steadily with us. Products and services are no longer sold and/or rented solely within national borders but find their way to machine manufacturers, dealers, resellers, rental companies, contractors, dredgers, and other clients worldwide.
