Custom Attachments for a 'Green' Scrap Processor

The scrap processor IJzerland has relied on SAES's expertise for many years for the purchase and maintenance of custom-built attachments.

Our logo is red, our thinking is green, says Ive van Frausum, founder of IJzerland. The scrap processor has trusted the expertise of SAES International for many years for the purchase and maintenance of custom-built attachments. Recently, two more LaBounty shears were added to the extensive range.

Founded in 1991 and located in Wommelgem, Belgium since 2010, IJzerland operates across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Northern France. In addition to processing scrap, they specialize in demolishing iron structures, halls, and tanks on-site. To prepare for the future, IJzerland has invested in a custom-built Liebherr 938 VH-HD with an operating weight of over 59 tons.

Labounty MSD 1500R Legend

To make the most of this Liebherr, it is equipped with a hydraulically extendable undercarriage, magnet installation, height-adjustable cab, and a triple boom with a Likofix hydraulically detachable arm. SAES provided two new LaBounty shears for this machine. A Labounty MSD 1500R Legend, with a working weight of approximately 3,600 kg and a cutting force of 668 tons, fitted with an SQ 70/55 connection. SAES also provided a specially built 70/55 OilQuick quick coupler for the underside of the arm to quickly switch between hydraulic attachments.

In this setup, IJzerland also has a magnet and a VTN sorting grapple type MD 210 with dual motors, specially adapted with closed side panels and saw teeth in the frame for multifunctional use. SAES internally routed all hydraulic hoses to prevent external damage. Finally, SAES delivered a Labounty MSD 2500R Legend, weighing around 7,000 kg and with a cutting force of 1,437 tons, equipped with a Likofix quick-coupling system. This combination aims to minimize transport movements, as the machine can be extremely versatile. This achieves a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, aligning with the scrap processor's green philosophy.

With the addition of the Labounty MSD 1500R Legend and MSD 2500R Legend, IJzerland now has a total of six LaBounty shears. When asked why IJzerland chooses LaBounty, the answer is clear: 'We’ve tried other products, but the proven durability and excellent performance of LaBounty iron shears are hard to match. And not least, we are also extremely satisfied with the service that SAES provides.'
